Trafford’s voluntary and community sector came together in style on Monday as 30 charities, community groups and public services gathered at Sale Library for the 2026 Trafford Volunteer Fair – a vibrant and welcoming start to this year’s Volunteers’ Week.
Hosted by Trafford Community Volunteering in partnership with Trafford Libraries, the fair offered residents a chance to meet local organisations face‑to‑face, discover flexible volunteering opportunities, and learn more about the incredible work happening across the borough.
A warm community celebration
The event was supported by the brilliant team at Trafford Libraries, who provided a bright, friendly space and kept visitors refreshed throughout the afternoon. An uplifting musical performance from Ceri Graves and her SEN singers added a special atmosphere.
The fair also welcomed the Leader and Deputy Mayor of Trafford Council, along with Cllr Parker and Cllr Thompson, who attended to show their support for Trafford’s thriving VCFSE sector and the volunteers who power it.
Volunteers at the heart of the day
A special thank‑you goes to Stretford Public Hall‘s volunteer team, who supported the smooth running of the event. Their help ensured exhibitors and visitors alike enjoyed a relaxed, well‑organised afternoon.
Across the fair, organisations shared roles ranging from befriending and mentoring to environmental projects, arts, youth work, community support, and more. Many attendees left with new connections, fresh ideas, and a clearer sense of how they might get involved.
