Rachel Valentine joined us at the end of March 23 as Trafford’s Reducing Parental Conflict Coordinator, working closely with Trafford Council and other partner organisations to support the delivery of Trafford’s Reducing Parental Conflict (RPC) Action Plan. Rachel chairs the RPC Steering Group, which brings together partners from social care, health, commissioning, third and community sectors and will continue the excellent work already taking place around RPC in Trafford. A key priority will be to review all the RPC support currently on offer in Trafford from both central services and within the community – and to work to ensure that that this support is made as visible and accessible as possible for parents and carers. RPC activity also includes the Safe Space programme, which provides support around child-to-parent or carer abuse, using a one-to-one keyworker approach to supporting this specific family relationship difficulty and designed to help parents and their child much earlier than crisis point. Trafford is the first local authority to pilot this programme and initial feedback has been very positive. For more details on any aspect of RPC work in Trafford, please contact Rachel on rachel@traffordcollective.org.uk.
