George Devlin


George is the Strategic Lead for Trafford Community Collective – he has been part of the development of the Collective since September 2018. He is a Trafford resident and has lived in Urmston since 1993, he and his wife have four grown up children and five grandchildren. He worked for Manchester City Council for 26 years. Since retiring from Manchester City Council in March 2011 he has continued to pursue his interest in Health, Education, Social Care and Community Development in a variety of voluntary roles.

He is the Lay Member for Patient and Public Engagement Trafford CCG Board; a Chair of Governors in two schools in Trafford; Chair of LMCP, a community based charity providing advice on health and social care to people from South Asian communities in Trafford; and the Chair of The Toy House, a community based charity in Flixton, which provides a range of services to the local community.
He believes in the need to build a truly holistic approach to the delivery of public services that puts people at the centre in ways that enable them to maximise their potential and achieve purposeful and independent lives.
