September 2024

Our September Members Meeting was well attended by representatives from across the VCFSE sector working in Trafford.

Before the meeting we sent out this invite

Trafford has a strong, committed and resourceful Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) sector built over many years. A thriving and successful VCFSE sector is fundamental to the economic, physical and mental wellbeing of Trafford residents, with organisations delivering fantastic work and projects across the borough.

Critical to how the sector thrives is the support it is provided. Trafford’s new Corporate Plan, Our Trafford Our Future 2024-27, outlines how we as a Council, want to work together to develop a strong, dynamic and diverse sector as a key partner. As part of this, Trafford Council is keen to understand current thoughts on support and need for the future.

This workshop will help us shape thinking and development into what that future support looks like.

Our meetings are open meetings for the benefit of whole of the Trafford VCFSE sector, so we encourage organisations to come along, with a view to joining in and being part of a movement to build a more sustainable future for VCFSE sector.

It’s a great opportunity to hear from the speakers, share your views at the round table sessions, network and learn from each other.

We are always pleased to hear your views on how we can connect and support you, please email info@traffordcollective.org.uk

At the meeting Mitch Salter and Sarah Grant from Trafford Council gave the following presentation

Some of the key outcomes they have collated so far include:

  • VCFSE organisations have gained support from a various of places, including a lot of peer support from other VCFSE organisations
  • Funding sources are again from a various of places and organisations – moving forward funding is the key challenge organisations are facing, including the duration of it. But other areas are important, such as access to space, connecting to the private sector, research and data support, and support with social media and developing websites.

This information will be utilised to help shape thinking around the future direction of infrastructure support, as well as provide intelligence on how best to support the sector further.

Trafford Council has a survey, currently out for completion, to help gather further thoughts on VCFSE Support. The survey is open until Sunday 20th October 2024.

More details on the survey on the survey mentioned in the PowerPoint will follow soon.
