Project Overview:
A creative project working with recovery community members via music, art, film, theatre, spoken word, games, quizzes, friendship, support and more.

We meet every week and have several projects such as DJ workshops, podcasting, video making, samosa making, movement, SpoGomi (competitive litter picking) and quizzes.
More than a Label (MtaL) is a collective of open and creative minds who want to share the joy of sobriety, being creative, having fun and to share the opportunities available.

The Recovery Community Project plays a vital role in bringing people together and creating opportunities for growth beyond traditional support pathways. At its heart, the role is about connection, building trusting relationships, nurturing confidence and opening doors to meaningful activity within the community.
Working alongside people in recovery, the facilitator helps individuals rediscover strengths, interests and ambitions. This might involve creative projects, movement-based sessions, peer-led groups or volunteering opportunities. The focus is always person-centred, recognising potential rather than problems.
More than a Label is a creative recovery project using music, art, poetry and movement to bring joy and expression into life after treatment. It creates space for people to rediscover identity, build confidence and connect with others. It celebrates creativity as a powerful part of healing and growth.
The Recovery Community Project also strengthens partnerships across local organisations, ensuring recovery is visible, celebrated and woven into community life. By reducing stigma and encouraging shared experiences, the facilitator supports people to move from isolation towards belonging.
Ultimately, the Recovery Community Project helps create a culture where recovery is not simply about overcoming challenges, but about thriving, contributing and shaping a positive future together.
