January 2025
I am sure that you will all agree that that January is a difficult time of the year following the seasonal festivities and the darkest of bights and mornings. Let’s hope that all your expectations for 2025 are starting to be fulfilled and we can look forward to the spring with hope and optimism.
It has been an incredibly busy start to the New Year in Trafford and in particular with the VCFSE sector and with our partners in the neighbourhood teams and public sector services.
ON 5th January 2025, Trafford hosted the VCFSE and 10 GM Greater Manchester forum. This provided an opportunity to celebrate the great work that is being achieved in Trafford and how we work together to strengthen and connect communities at the heart of where people live.
This week has see two volunteer fairs in Urmston and Streford, I was delighted to attend the event at Urmston Library on Wednesday this week and chat to colleagues from Rhubarb (Gorse Hill Studios) , Age Uk Trafford, The Toy Box, Beyond Empower, Home Start and many more. It was great to see so many people interested in giving their time to support he work of the sector.
We are excited to be launching two programmes of support for those people seeking employment and those people who experience multiple disadvantage. These programmes have included a broad range of partners and will be delivered through the local community hubs.
