Carers Quest

Carers Quest

Introducing the Carers Quest for Carers Week (10th -16th June)

The theme for Carers Week (10th to the 16th of June) is ‘Putting Carers on the Map.’ It’s objectives is to  highlight the increasing pressures on carers and to campaign for much-needed recognition and support. Therefore, this year Trafford Carers Centre is doing something a bit different for Carers Week and wants to invite all organisations and  businesses to get involved and show their support for carers by getting involved with Carers Quest.

The Carers Quest will act a bit like a treasure hunt across Trafford, where organisations will put on a free drop in, activity, or item across carers week to engage carers and the people they care for into visiting their service and find out more about the support available. With each carer that visits the carer will collect points for an opportunity to win a prize. We hope the outcomes of this will be:

  • Link carers to: information & advice, groups, activities, events that they may not already be aware of
  • Raise awareness for carer identity
  • Raise awareness for carer support
  • Reduce isolation
  • Build long term relationships with organisations

The audience is for all unpaid carers and must be able to accommodate the person they care for. (Someone supporting a person who is frail, has a disability or a special condition, mental health condition, Alzheimer’s, dementia or an addiction.)
